Cláudio Abramo

Cláudio Abramo was a prominent figure in Brazilian literature, notable for his work as a journalist and author. He was born to Italian immigrant parents, Vincenzo Abramo and Iole Scarmagnan, and was part of a large family that included several siblings who went on to achieve recognition in their respective fields. His siblings included Athos, Fúlvio, a Trotskyst activist, Beatriz, the actress Lélia, Mário, and the engraver Livio.
Abramo's personal life was marked by two marriages, first to Hilde Weber, a cartoonist, with whom he had a son, Claudio Weber Abramo, who later became a prominent figure in the fight against political corruption in Brazil as the executive director of Transparência Brasil. His second marriage was to Radha Abramo, with whom he had two daughters. Through his family connections, Abramo was also the uncle of Perseu Abramo, highlighting the strong familial bonds that existed throughout his life.
